Taru Story

It started off with living in nature. Mom grew trees and organic food in our backyard. Growing up, the biggest joy was to be with trees and the forest.

Ancient grains, jaggery, stone-milling, plant medicine, cooking in terracotta, handchurning ghee, pickling, homemade preserves, jams, have been a way of our life. A legacy which has been passed on from Mom, a lifestyle in sync with nature.

TARU was conceptualised to share knowledge of Mom's naturopathy knowledge and to empower millions of small scale farmers across India.

Taru means 'Tree' in Sanskrit, and small-scale farmers' communities are in the network of Mother Nature Tree.

People, who are a part of TARU foods, are leaves of the Mother Tree, and a part of our beautiful journey.
