Consumed during fasting as an alternative to cereals.Recipe for Baby Food: Mix 1 tbsp Amaranth flour in ½ bowl of regular water. Cook while stirring continuously. Can add ½ bowl milk / vegan milk /yogurt /curd. Give 1 boil & take off heat. Add 1 tsp natural jaggery/sugar.
Recipe: Herbs and Garlic Amaranth Crackers
Ingredients: 1 cup Taru Amaranth flour, 3 tbs Taru Cold Pressed Groundnut Oil, 3 tbs water, 1/2 tsp Baking Powder (optional), 1 Clove, Grated Garlic Grated,1 tbs Chopped Herbs/Chopped Moringa Leaves or Mint Leaves, Salt to taste.
Method: Preheat oven to 180 celsius (355 Fahrenheit). Mix ingredients & make a stiff dough.
Break into sections and roll out to cookie size. Prick all over with the fork. Bake for 12-15 mins. Let cool on a rack, before storing in an airtight container.Gluten Free. Rich in Proteins, Calcium, Minerals & Vitamin B.
